Booked a cheap package holiday to the Mansion Nazaret, our first time in Lanzarote.

The apartments are on three floors – our rooms were on the first floor & overlooked the road at the back of the hotel. Its position meant that we had virtually no sun at any time of the day. Spacious accommodation but shabby & dated.

The bathroom door would not close properly & the hairdryer was broken. The kitchen was very pokey with virtually no worktop space. The equipment was minimal & the filter coffee-maker jug was cracked – we asked for a replacement but it never appeared.

We came for a relaxing chilled out one week package holiday in the sun & that is exactly what we had. The apartments are spacious & decorated nicely. Bathroom was of an acceptable standard although the hot water is scalding & only one small towel each.

We received a free breakfast on the first morning to tempt you to upgrade to All-Inclusive but it was awful & no butter for our toast so we didn’t bother. Well equipped kitchen facilities in the room enable you to make breakfast/lunch easy enough so had those in the room instead.

Pool area kept clean although some sunbeds were a bit dodgy, cracked or broken, so you had to be careful there. Lots of umbrellas for shade but the beautiful pools were freezing. This stopped me going in but the kids still went in.

Read mixed reviews on this hotel before leaving so went with an open mind but after staying a week there I can honestly say it has put me off ever returning to Lanzarote.

I have been to the island 4 times & enjoyed previous visits. The hotel is set back away from main area with wasteland surrounding you. First impressions were it’s quite nice – reception spoke excellent English & were very helpful.

Room was very basic & didn’t have the sheets changed at all in the week we were there, towels were only changed 3 times & cleaning staff just popped in gave a quick sweep & were gone again.

Oh god where do I start, worst package holiday I’ve ever booked. Calling it a hotel/villa is a farce, I have stayed in better hostels.

Apartments were disgraceful, no sheets/towels changed the whole time there, not that they were that great to start with. Security guard from the hotel was a mad man, pushed another guest down a flight of stairs!

Staff apart from both bar men were extremely rude, was woken one morning by hotel “manager’s” mouth one morning, screaming at guests down stairs. Left our key at reception one evening only to return to it missing had to pay €60 for a replacement!

One of our group stayed in alone one evening, only to see the security guard come into our apartment & have a wander round for himself, friend thought it was one of us he got up from the bed tons very startled guard told hotel management next morning & nothing was done.

So all & all would really not recommend, very very dodgy indeed.

Unless you are a goat do not stay at this hotel / apartments. We stayed in N0. 24 which was as far away from reception as could get.

Reception said they could give us a key to the back gate to allow us to bypass the steps (all 9 million of them). After searching for 30 minutes she could not find a key. The trek started.

Out of reception round the pool up first flight of steps across down flight of steps up flight of steps down flight of steps turn corner up steps (is this getting repetitive, it was for us as well) finally find apartment, yes you guessed it 2nd floor so up steps (Collapse with two suitcases).

TV was extra 15 euros for 3 days 20 something for 7. On the good side apartments were spotless. This holiday package wasn’t even close to acceptable for the price.

The hotel was nice, the apartment clean & a good size. We had booked self catering but were given all inclusive bands on arrival so had free drinks all day at pool, which was quiet & had plenty of sun loungers available.

We didn’t try the food at the hotel but would recommend Torviscas Indian Tandoori or Intercontinental Restaurant for a meal. A pint of beer was one euro in most places.
