We were a little disappointed by the Grande Real hotel in Albufeira - it clearly only gains it’s five star rating due to the facilities it offers such as the spa etc. Whilst the public areas are extremely nice & well kept, the room we had was rather tired looking with the carpet well worn & stained & the furniture was marked in places. Other rooms we saw looked to be similar. …

We had an excellent family holiday in Pestana Dom Joao. The hotel was in an excellent location right on the beach, so you had the choice of dipping in the pool or the sea to cool down. It had decent food & our 7 year old son especially loved the buffet in the mornings. Rooms are clean & modern with satellite TV and a modern bathroom. The sea view is worth the extra money as it’s beautiful. …

We arrived at 9.40pm to find reception at the Maralvor apartments was closed. Fortunately I had taken my mobile with me so was able to telephone the number on the reception door. 45 minutes later, a man came from the Dunas hotel with our key. Arrived at the Silchoro hotel 9. 30am only to be told our rooms weren’t ready! We waited five hours before they were and as we hadn’t had any sleep for 24hrs this was quite irritating, but then we had got a cheap last minute deal so that compensated I guess. …

Stayed at the Ouratlantico apartments in Albufeira. Perfect loction if you want to be near the “strip” which was only a few minutes walk away to all the bars & restaurants. We had a one bed apartment overlooking the pool which was massive & had 3 balconies, one being a great suntrap! Two lovely pools & a big area with plenty sun longers but we did stay off-season so never had a issue with people getting up at …

We had a superb time at the Terracos Do Vau Aprtments complex. The staff were exceptional. Rui, Paulo, Fernando, Pedro & Carla will make you feel welcome straight away. The complex is spotless & the maids were round most days. We were on the 1st floor & had a room overlooking the farmyard. Look out for the geese, horse & cockerels (who …

Hotel, room’s, pool area etc were all spotless! room’s lovely, spacious with huge balcony area.
Location is quite remote but easy to get to nearby places with such cheap taxi’s. typicaly 4 euros to the strip, 6 to the old town.
I recomend the old town for restaurants, beaches and beautiful views.
Holel staff were all friendly and willing to help although the kitchen staff could have been more prepared and the food was pretty poor, never hot, very limited choice and very bland, they also ran out of some items quite regulary, although this did start to improve towards the end of our holiday.
We had an excellant holiday, kids club was brilliant as were all the first choice staff!
I would recomend this hotel.
