Club Praia Da Rocha – Praia Da Rocha – Algarve

I arrived in Club Praia de Rocha at 12 noon. I had mixed views of the apartments and the surrounding garden at the front was a bed of weeds, full with bottles & rubbish.

The apartment complex was very dated & was in need of a makeover. There were only two lifts in the apartment which were very very slow and it was faster to walk down the stairs. The apartments itself were spacious, fine for a group of friends who weren’t going to be staying in the apartments all day. The beds were like rocks & the pull-out beds were worse! I would have been more comfortable on a floor as the pillows were so flat it felt like I had none.

The view from the balcony of the pool was lovely, but the fact that the apartments were never cleaned was horrible. I swept the floors every day & dressed the beds. We never got clean linen or towels & when we ran out of toilet paper it was a case of get your own. When we were coming back at night, the smell was disgusting – it smelt like they washed the floors with sewage.

The hotel snack bar was not nice, was very expensive & the service was very poor, The payphone didn’t work & paying for the sunbeds I think was a bit much every day. The location of the apartment wasn’t too bad – it was a walk to the strip & to the beach & bars but it wasnt too far except the hill was steep. The hotel staff were not nice & never seemed to want to be of help.
