On arrival we were picked up by a cab arranged by the hotel. When approaching the hotel from the Candolim Road, I thought we had made a big mistake as the lanes we drove through looked a bit grim, with big puddles. The Hotel entrance was small as was reception.

We were shown to our room which looked nice enough, then were asked if we would prefer a larger room. We had a look at the other one & decided to take it as it was indeed bigger with an extra bed. All rooms have air-conditioning, TV, fridge, a wardrobe, & shelf space under the TV. Beds were comfy. Bedding & towels were changed daily. There was a small balcony at the rear of the room, & you could also sit out at the front overlooking the bar/pool.

This hotel was recommended to us by an English friend who lives in Baga. It truly is an oasis in the mad world that is India. We stayed in a deluxe room which is a little extra cost but well worth it. The hotel has two pools & offers treatments like massages & a beauty parlor.

We found the hotel to be extremely clean & staff very helpful. Rooms cleaned & changed daily. The buildings & grounds of the hotel remind you of a bygone era when it was a Portuguese colony. Did not leave any rating for Entertainment as we did not stay at the hotel in the evenings.

The Moonlight is situated up a narrow lane heading towards Pretty Petals. But you can also follow the road around the rear of Rising Waves & past Pretty Petals.Santana & Theresa are very welcoming & will help out with anything you may need. Santana even met us at 5:30 am on the morning of our arrival, with a cold bottle of water at hand. Much needed after the farce that is Dabolim airport.

We were advised by friends who have stayed here for a number of years, & the apartment we had was owned by the same guy who owns JJ’s on the main road, in fact he owns all the apartments in the block. We needed a bit more space than JJ’s as they were room only, but Greenpeace has a separate living room & kitchen.

Stayed here for 16 days from 24th Feb 2012. I was a bit worried because there are some reports slating it but I found it a first rate holiday package for the money/ star rating. The hotel was spotless. Sheets changed every day & were pure white as were the pillow cases. New towels were also provided every day.

The room was basic although that didn’t bother us. Ours opened out onto the pool area which was perfect for my 5 year old son. Room has A/C which was brand new & also ceiling fans. Large fridge & Sky also provided within the price.

Only ate a few times but it was always good – the chicken hakka noodles were great.

Hotel is down a road called Valentines Lane. For those of you who know the place it’s between Ice N Spice & Prazeres but on the opposite side of the road. Very quiet location. I didn’t see any evening entertainment because we were out every night from about 7. 30 p. m. until about 10. 30 p. m.

I would definitely visit this hotel again.

A real gem of a hotel, the Casa Seashell is clean, tidy, comfortable, serves excellent food & is cheap.
