Greenpeace Enclave – Candolim – Goa
We were advised by friends who have stayed here for a number of years, & the apartment we had was owned by the same guy who owns JJ’s on the main road, in fact he owns all the apartments in the block. We needed a bit more space than JJ’s as they were room only, but Greenpeace has a separate living room & kitchen.
Good size bedroom with wardrobe & plenty of hangers! Also a lock up cupboard for your cash etc (would be better with a safe, but the place seems secure enough). A/C is in the bedroom, but rarely needed as the rooms were cooler than other places we have stayed in Goa. Also a fan in the bedroom as well as the living room. Living room has a TV with satellite, good choices if you want to watch it while the other half is getting ready. Two-seater sofa & armchair are nice to relax in.
The kitchen has pots/pans/glasses, etc, (only enough for 2, but more on request) & kettle will be supplied on request otherwise it’s boil a pan time (not an issue). Laundry service available, & not too expensive. Good balcony which is caged in as we were on the ground floor, but this wasn’t an issue either (better to be secure). Room cleaned every day & new towels/sheets every two days. There is a pool available with a few sun loungers, but didn’t use it – OK if anyone is ill & you wish to stay at your base for the day.
Only a 3 minute walk to the main road & near all you could wish for. Just cross over the main road & within 5 minutes you are at the beach. A couple of minutes walk takes you to the bus stops for either Calangute or Panaji. A nice place, clean, tidy & Mary who looks after the rooms is only too glad to be of assistance; we would return again if we could get a good price on a package holiday. We paid £15 per day for apartment including A/C, satellite TV, & fridge; £210 for 14 nights, pretty good seeing that all is going up.
