Serendib Hotel - Bentota - Sri Lanka - India

We went to Sri Lanka for the first time & it’s wonderful. We stayed in hotel Serendib in Bentota. When we arrived at this hotel the welcome we had was great. The entrance to the hotel was lovely with an open air reception & a big pond with koi carp & other fish swimming around.

The staff are just so friendly & cant do enough for you. It’s a peaceful hotel right on the beach front. We went half board & found the food lovely & there was plenty to choose from. What you have to remember is you are not going to have your typical British food such as pie ‘n’ chips here. The food is spicy but when you’re visiting a counrty such as Sri Lanka then you have to go with the flow.

For breakfast there’s plenty of choice, such as bacon, egg, cereal, toast & much more. If you are more daring theres even a curry or two to choose from. Evening meals there’s curries, pastas, salad, potatoes & much more.

Our rooms got cleaned everyday & clean towels everyday too plus fresh flowers on our beds which was lovely. The cleaning staff really made an effort which was great. The location was fab, right on the beach front, what more can you ask for. There is a train station not too far away so you can explore the country for very little.

There wasn’t much entertainment going on, but we went in low season so I suppose there would be better entertainment in higher seasons. We would definately visit this hotel again as everyone from the gardeners to the managers couldn’t do enough for you.
