Just back after two weeks at the Lagoa Azul, a fairly short review here.

Room excellent, large, & really clean. Hot water & power supply reliability somewhat variable – but this is India, no big problem. Food – good quality & a decent menu. Staff attentive, all very helpful & friendly. There are two decent sized swimming pools, & the atmosphere is quiet rather than lively.

The most important big and factor for me about this hotel is it’s location. ItÂ’s at the end of a really quiet country road in Arpora, far away from the giant rubbish tips, noisy, beach crowds & hassle, thousands of crazy tourists riding motorbikes dangerously, & all the other horrible things usually associated with North Goa.

We stayed in a deluxe room which was cleaned daily, the staff were extremely pleasant, always a smile nothing was too much trouble & everyone friendly, the rooms were spacious & bright, the food tasty & always replaced when empty.

The only moan about the food was the a la carte meals not included which would prove to be quite expensive, drinks plentiful overall a lovely hotel; a word of warning the cottages are very dated & very tired. They are going to be revamped later in the year which they are in desperate need.

We took away plenty of good memories & thoroughly enjoyed our stay; we would recommend a holiday package here.

When we first arrived we were put in 600s & I had asked for 100s, anyway, they moved us within a few hours, so we just got changed & went to the beach. After two hours, we had been moved to 100s :-)

The room was beautiful, jacuzzi in the garden, outside bathroom which was great, very comfy bed & everything was just perfect :-)

The food was out of this world & there was never a time when there wasn’t something there you would like, a lot of cooking stations where the chefs were cooking the food fresh in front of you.

You do have to pay for food at the Asian restaurant, but they do have special offer evenings which we went to & the food was out of this world. One of the best restaurants we have eaten in. Perfect package holiday overall.

This was a Heritage hotel with a garden restaurant in the inner courtyard which was called The Whistling Teal, not sure that it was owned by the hotel. The food was excellent & the waiting staff were very friendly.

Our room was lovely & done out in the old style. We had air conditioning but no fridge. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, with the usual eggs, toast, fruit juice, tea & coffee. There was a rooftop bar & restaurant but we could never see any sign of life up there.

The hotel was very well located for sightseeing. The courtyard in the hotel is nice for sitting & drinking in the evening. Nice holiday overall.

This hotel was recommended to us by an English friend who lives in Baga. It truly is an oasis in the mad world that is India. We stayed in a deluxe room which is a little extra cost but well worth it. The hotel has two pools & offers treatments like massages & a beauty parlor.

We found the hotel to be extremely clean & staff very helpful. Rooms cleaned & changed daily. The buildings & grounds of the hotel remind you of a bygone era when it was a Portuguese colony. Did not leave any rating for Entertainment as we did not stay at the hotel in the evenings.

We stayed here on a bed & breakfast basis & had the usual breakfast of eggs, toast, jam & butter with fruit juice, tea & coffee which was served quickly in the big restaurant. The hotel was clean throughout & the restaurant was set out nicely. We did have evening dinner in the restaurant which was very good & served nicely in nice surroundings, & we had half a bottle of wine with dinner which was expensive but good. They had Rajastani music & dancing on throughout the evening. The hotel was located on the main road but we had no traffic noise in our room. We had air conditioning & fridge & TV. We also had an Ayurvedic massage at the hotel which was very good & good value. We also had tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Would stay here again on our next holiday.
