Selen Apartments – Icmeler – Turkey

We were allocated an attic room at the Selen apartments, having specifically requested to *not* have an attic room. When we got there, the room was not ready – light bulbs out, no bedding for our son’s bed and the air conditioning was faulty.

The lads who took us to the room however kindly ran round for us trying to sort things out. The pillows were absolutely filthy and the apartment, on closer inspection in the morning, was disgustingly dirty. There were even greasey foot prints on the bedroom walls along with dirty cutlery. I bleached everything I could before we could use the kitchenette. The shower curtain was stained with what looked like urine along the bottom and my husband had to scrub the bathroom floor (a first!) while the patio curtains were held together with safety pins! The maids were friendly & seemed constantly around, so I can’t understand the state of the room.

The pool area unfortunately was dirty & the pool water murky so in the end we decamped to another apartment block we knew well. We could have stayed and caused a rumpus but as this was a late deal &  cheap, to be honest I just wanted to get on with the holiday. We literally just used the room to secure our belongings.  

We asked about a late check out & were quoted £25 to stay from 12. 00pm – 2. 00pm! This is the point we just left! We’ve been going to Icmeler for 10 years & have had happy holidays in basic but always clean accommodation before now. The fantastic towel art on beds is the only redeeming factor.
