Paspalis Hotel – Skala – Kefalonia

The Paspalis in Scala (Skala locally) was a great hotel. The rooms, although basic, were cleaned every day & fresh towels & bed linen changed three times in the two weeks we were there. Nikos the owner & all his staff were very helpful & friendly, particularly the restaurant staff who worked very long hours yet nothing was too much trouble for them.

The hotel is located just across the road from the beach which is largely comprised of shingle & pebbles so footwear is needed to get in & out of the sea. The hotel is very handy for the centre of Skala which has a several restaurants, bars & shops but not a noisy town at all. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent & not expensive like some hotels we have stayed at, in fact it got very busy some evenings because a lot of people staying in other hotels came in to eat.

On Thursday evenings there is entertainment from a guy who sets up his keyboard & sings traditional Greek songs and some of the locals & staff entertained us with traditional Greek dancing but anyone could join in if they wanted too, a great night all in all. Kefalonia is a beautiful island with some stunning countryside to see if you hire a car.

I would definitely recommend the Paspalis hotel to anyone.
