Holiday Tags: Kefalonia

I must have been in some sort of time warp as my experience is quite different than a lot of other guests. Firstly they charge too much for the safety deposit boxes, 20 Euros for one week. Towels, they only change them once a week, this is a hygiene risk. There should be fresh towels every day, I heard from a guest that yes they will give you a fresh one every day, but the hotel charges for this.

The breakfast is a joke as all they offer you is the usual Tea or Coffee orange cordial & toast, all the other items you expect to be offered such as Greek Yogurt, they charge you per item. Bar prices expensive for example 2. 50 Euro for a can of coke. We will not be visiting this Hotel again. Definitely not a good holiday for the money.

Were looking for cheap package holidays when we decided on San Lorenzo Village. Best self catering apartments we have stayed in in Greece. The accommodations were so clean & we had a change of towels every day. We had everything we needed in the room & there was a hairdryer too. The staff were great, so friendly, especially Maria in the bar! Because we went on the very last week of the season, Lassi had closed down & there were only 3 restaurants open. We tended to use San Lorenzo’s restaurant, which was fab! One night my husband was ill & we needed Ibuprofen. I knew the reception desk closed at 2am & it was 1:55am so I rushed down to ask if they or someone had any Ibuprofen, they didn’t but told me that they’d take me to Agastoli where there is a 24hr Pharmacy. I later found out that this member of staff was actually the owner, lovely man! I would recommend San Lorenzo Village to anyone!

The Paspalis in Scala (Skala locally) was a great hotel. The rooms, although basic, were cleaned every day & fresh towels & bed linen changed three times in the two weeks we were there. Nikos the owner & all his staff were very helpful & friendly, particularly the restaurant staff who worked very long hours yet nothing was too much trouble for them.

The Efrosini Village apartments in Katelios were very much what you expect in Greece – quite basic, however they were reasonably spacious & had a seperate area for preparing snacks etc – the space allocated for this was limited.

Just returned from our 8th visit to the Mediterranee Hotel in Lassi in 11 years. This hotel & the island of Kefalonia has everything we regard as a perfect holiday.

The Anassa Hotel in Skala on the beautiful Island of Kefalonia is a wonderful hotel. We stayed here for two weeks in a self catering apartment allocated a round floor room with a side view of the sea & a spacious terrace set in the grounds.
