Best to come clean right off - this was the first time I have ever stayed in an All-Inclusive beach resort hotel & I realised within 24 hrs that the whole concept wasn’t for me. By the end of my 4 night stay at Villa Cuba I had ‘cabin fever’ because there’s not a lot to see & do in Varadero away from the hotel. Also, a lot of what I saw as problems wouldn’t necessarily have been seen that way by others. …

We went to Cuba to the Sol Rio de Luna hotel in Guardalavaca in July to celebrate our honeymoon. What a nightmare! We were given a room on the Mares side which was very basic but at least it was clean. There were chips in the bathroom floor tiles & the decor was gaudy & from the 70’s. …

Just returned from two weeks in Cayo Coco in Cuba & thought it my duty to warn potential holiday makers of this hotel. Ok, first off just a few things about the Blau Colonial hotel in general. We have just returned from a week at the Royal Decameron Club in Runaway Bay, Jamaica & I can honestly say that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had. The hotel itself was a great choice.
