Casa Marina Reef – Sosua – Dominican Republic – Caribbean

First the good part of this package holiday, very clean spotless, & only 15 minutes from airport. Complex is stunning. Beach is stunning. I booked this holiday for my girlfriend’s 40th birthday & our 21 years together.

It rained for the first 6 days. Once you get wet you can’t get warm, the air conditioning is set to cold & you can’t alter it. The food was bad, freezing cold, & flies all over the food. I got food poisoning on day 4 & spent girlfriend’s 40th in bed; she went ill on 6th day.

The 8th day my youngest would not eat, all she ate was cake & bread. All we ate after this was toast, tea, & coffee, cereal & yogurt, so much for all inclusive. We ate at two restaurants on site but had to give 72 hours notice to book them; these where OK (hot food).

Drinks were bad, watered down & you get a cup if you are German, Canadian or American you get a pint the cup is plastic. We went to the bar, only one person serving (400 people), told no cups so no drink unless you find & wash it.

Got two cups, she poured one then the other the bottle ran out so I got half a cup that’s it, goes to next person. So had to queue again to get one cup of beer. Remember all inclusive! No at 11:00pm you pay for your beer which is dear than out side.

On weekends they let the locals in this is bad, the noise, you can’t get a table to eat, no sunbeds to sit on, you are pushed away. We sat one day 5 hours on the sidewalk because there was nowhere to sit. Went to change money at reception & they said no you have to go to the exchange outside which is not nice, gangs come up to you trying to change their money for yours.

If you are English going here god help you, this place is horrendous.
