Sunrise Queen Hotel – Side – Turkey

Flew from Gatwick to Turkey on Monarch airlines (never again) and were delayed from 0735hrs until 1615hrs with various excuses from the plane being late in, to problems with the plane and finally, the crew run out of hours!

On arrival at the Sunrise Queen hotel we were greeted by very friendly reception staff who, despite our delayed arrival, welcomed us with drinks & a cold platter which I thought was an excellent touch. The food in general was superb with a choice of hot & cold buffets, some international cuisine as well as local dishes and all clearly labelled in a all-you-can-eat buffet style.

The cleanliness was superb, always spotless, but this might be helped by the fact the hotel was only a quarter full. It is postioned right on the beach (on the Mediterranean) a short stroll through the gardens making it an ideal location with free sunbeds & parasols for all inclusive guests & an abundance of water sports with pedalos & kayaks – free again to AI guests.

The animation team worked tirelesly & the evening shows in the theatre were good, but not so good up at the Vitamin bar where a lady crooned away singing old classics to an accompanied man playing what looked like a casio keyboard – all quite depressing.

I would strongly recommend updating to All-Inclusive as the drinks & food are expensive which is to be expected at a five star hotel I guess. The staff could not do enough for you and there are plenty of sunbeds (a few Germans & Russians staying) but all in all I would definitely return at some future date.
