Sunrise Holiday Resort – Hurghada – Egypt

We bought a holiday package to the Sunrise Holiday hotel in Hurghada & was amazed at how friendly everyone is as soon as you step through the door, While checking in, we were given a drink (which you need as it’s so hot in Egypt) and then we were shown to our room & our luggage was brought up straight away.

The view from our room was fantastic & it was so clean – in fact the whole hotel is cleaned every day even down to the smallest thing. The cleaning staff work very hard and we had fresh water brought to our room every morning & our room was cleaned to the highest standard every day with fresh towels.

The hotel has plenty of places to eat so you never go hungry, while the beach & pool area serve fresh pizza burgers (& more) from 12 until 5 - it tastes so good we never ate lunch in the resturant! In the afternoon we ate at the beach bar as it was so friendly you just did not want to move. Also the restaurants were first class but they get busy, so get there early or you will be waiting in the line outside for a table. That said, the restaurant under the pool serves the same food but is much quieter so we ate there most nights then hit the pool bar where the service was first class – never had an empty glass. They never forget what you drink so you order once & you’re set for the night.

The location of the hotel was great - you have Hurghada marina on one side – you could walk there but could take you sometime as you get hassled really bad so be warned - or you could get a taxi from the reception. Ordering from reception is highly recommened or you will get ripped off so make sure reception set a price for you & you have the exact money for your journey!

The animation team are all great & speak many laungages. They work very very hard to keep everyone entertained. You feel tired just watching them as they are on the go all day and all night but thanks to them for all the laughs & fun we had. The waiters & bar staff are also first class – as long as you are polite to them & say “please” & “thank you”. We saw a lot of rude tourists who were not polite & they did not get good service, which I think was right - a smile & good manners costs nothing.

Be aware that if you are going to Egypt in July or August then it will be very, very hot & do not wear metal clips in your hair while sunbathing as mine got stuck to my skin! I will be booking my holiday for next year in September so if anyone from the hotel is reading this, see you all soon.
