Solemar Hotel – Ixia – Rhodes

We stayed at the Solemar hotel & apartments at Ixia on the Greek island of Rhodes in summer 2009, staying on a half board basis. The hotel reception was was very clean & modern & receptionist was very helpfull & frendly.

The room we had was on the first floor as we had requested. It was a little worn but clean, although we had asked for a sea view (on booking) but instead had a view of the house next door. Unfortunately it had 3 dogs in it which barked at night so we asked for a different room but that one was looking at a brick wall so we stayed put.

All of the staff were friendly and the food in the hotel was very good & plentiful (you can have as much as you want). There is a bus stop just out side the hotel (Old Rhodes Town is about a 45 minute walk) & shops & supermarkets are just up the road. There is no entertainment but we knew this when we booked. A safe was available for 15 euro a week and air conditioning was 6 euro a day.

Overall we had a lovely time & wold definitely return to the Solemar.
