Sergios Studios and Apartments – Koukounaries – Skiathos

Myself & my partner have just retunrned from a weeks holiday on the island of Skiathos where we stayed at Sergio’s apartments in Koukounaries. I have to say that these studios are absolutely fabulous (we stayed in No 15 two person studio). The rooms were very clean & the gardens surrounding the studios were beautiful & peaceful as Sergios is set away from the road. The studios also have a fantastic swimming pool with a lovely poolside bar where you can get snacks & drinks (and stays open until midnight).

The beautiful Koukounaries beach is approx 15 minutes walk away & bed hire is approx Eur8 per day for two beds & umbrella.

By day Koukounaries is busy as the beach is quite big with plenty of water sports & daytrippers. By night this part of the island becomes a lot more quiet & relaxed. There are around 10 restaurants to choose from although we decided to venture a few nights into the town of Skiathos which is very easy on the local bus, takes 30 minutes & costs 3.60 euros per person, as apposed to a taxi which costs 20 euros. I would recommend anyone to stay clear of a restaurant in Koukounaries called ‘Georges’ which was overpriced & very poor. The food portions were tiny & cold & you had to pay for your food upfront which should have indicated to us there & then that something was very wrong but I guess you live & learn.

I would recommend anyone to stay at Sergios if they want peace, relaxation, self catering & a friendly, family run business. Big thumbs up!
