Oasis Golf Apartments – Playa de las Americas – Tenerife

The Oasis Golf apartments complex in Playa de Las Americas is not for those who have difficulty walking, or for those with small children. There are too many steps to the apartments.

On arrival at the apartments we were greeted by very pleasant staff. I could not fault any one of the hard working people of this complex. My main gripes really are there that is no air con and the TV channels are few and far between. Fans could be rented for 18 euro a week but there were only two channels on TV – CBNC & Eurosport. Ok, so you don’t go on holiday to watch TV, but the whole place closes down at 11pm and at 30+ degrees and with no air-con it is impossible to sleep. The point I am making is they have the Sky dishes there, so why not let people watch the TV for free instead of charging 4 euros per day.

Another moan is the sunbeds! I was up at 4.30 am & even that is too late to get one! OK an exageration but they do go early. Although I saw the area around the pool being cleaned, I did not see the pool itself being cleaned & it did appear rather dirty. The sunbeds themselves could have done with a good scrub down too.

The food was a bit of a random concoction, by which I mean you get fish with pasta etc. Nothing seemed to go together. The kid’s menu was no better - it was chips or pasta, nuggets or fritters.

Considering the amount of people in the place, only one main bar was opened in the night. The entertainment started far too early for those who were on the late sitting for dinner so they had no chance of waching it.

I would return to the complex next time I am in Tenerife but only if all of the above issues were addressed. It is not the worst place on earth and the staff are lovely (& overworked).
