Dannunzio Hotel – Lido di Jesolo – Italy
This was our first visit to Italy & we couldn’t have picked a better hotel. The breakfast was a continental buffet with cereal, toast, jam, marmalade, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, danish pastries, cakes, fruit juices, tea & coffee. For two Euros you can order eggs & bacon & for a little extra can add on beans, mushrooms, etc.
The evening meals were very good. Meal times are strictly 7pm with everyone sat down before orders are taken. You are expected to read the menu outside the dining room before dinner & to know what you want before you enter. You are given a choice of two pasta dishes & a soup for starter which were always excellent. The best pasta I have ever tasted. Main course was a set dish of the day but if you didn’t want that then you could choose from a daily list which is always available. Dessert was also a choice of 3.
Drinks were 2. 50 euro for a glass of wine, italian spritzer or Prosecco & 3. 90 euro for a lager. The staff were all lovely with Brenda & her son Maurice being particularly friendly. Our room overlooked the main street which is tree lined with beautiful pine trees. It slept 3 & was adequate, clean & comfortable with a good sized balcony which we had paid extra for. Nice holiday overall.
