Al Moudira Hotel – Luxor – Egypt

We arrived at the Al Moudira hotel near Luxor & it is truly an oasis in the middle of nowhere! However it is a paradise for a couple looking to relax & see the sites without visiting a horrible ’5*’ hotel on the banks of the Nile.

We had a great time, a 30 minute taxi to Luxor to see the fantastic sites, meet interesting people & then a taxi back to the hotel to spend time in the lovely pool. We had great service, romantic rooms & enjoyed the sounds & smells of the real Egypt & not the tourist Egypt.

If you want to explore, enjoy your own time together & enjoy this wonderful country for what it is I can honestly recommend you visit this hotel & boycott the hideous buildings ruining the view of the Nile.

The food is wonderful, service is honest & genuine, wine (as with most places in Egypt) is awful, but the environment is wonderfully quiet & very, very romantic!

My wife will ensure we return & for once I will not complain!
