Holiday Review: Winter in Diu, India

Diu in India is a picturesque & idyllic place to laze around the clean beach & even the town is clean. Far from the hustle & bustle of the mainland where the main holiday package operators ship people to. There are three beaches, all of them clean & not at all crowded. Nagoa beach is the most attractive. Its cresent shaped & has water sports activities.

food, sight-seeing & shopping
food is good in almost all eateries. I liked the fare dished out in Apna hotel. The ice cream is a must at Ram Vijays. This is located off bunder road. Drink is plentiful! Rates are also half of what is charged on the mainland.

activities & things to do
Just laze around on the beaches. Tranquility prevails. There are not many vendors. A visit to the fort, the church, sunset point etc. are also advised.

travel tips, how to reach, travel warnings etc.
Diu can be reached through Rajkot or Ahmedabad. The Somnath express from Ahmedabad will take you to Veraval from where you can take a vehicle or a public transport to Diu. Almost all hotels are located near the Diu bus stand.
