Tej Marhaba Hotel – Sousse – Tunisia
The Tej Marhaba hotel would only be classed as a 3 star hotel in Spain. However, the food was quite good, plenty of choice. The rooms were OK if a bit dated.
Reception was all marble & glass, very impressive, until you went into the toilets there. Disgusting! Better toilets in the little snack bars in Sousse. Don’t believe the picture you see in the holiday books. The sea view (for which we paid £26 extra) is hardly there anymore, as a massive hotel has been built right in front of the Tej Marhaba, obscuring most of it.
Sousse is an interesting town, if you don’t mind the haggling in the Medina. You must remember this is North Africa, not like Benidorm, & act accordingly. However the people are very friendy, crime is almost unheard of in Tunisia apparently. Taxis are cheap & the drivers are helpful.
This was our fourth trip to Tunisia, at different locations, & we have enjoyed them all.
