Rosaire Hotel – Benidorm – Costa Blanca

After returning from a package holiday to the Rosaire hotel I have to tell people to beware of this hotel. I was worried after reading reviews & I had just cause to be. I’ll start with the hotel itself. It’s a bit outdated & the lifts can realistically only carry a max of two people - only one if you have a pram or luggage – plus one of the lifts is very tempremental.

The hotel staff are extreemly rude and there is a British bloke who works behind reception well, just don’t ask him to help you with anything as everything seems too much effort for him. The all-inclusive is typically geared towards the Spanish guests so the food is always cold & the majority of the time of questionable quality. The breakfasts are passable. For evening meals I took the safe option & stuck to cold meat & salads.

The entertainment is a joke - it’s advertised that there is both day & night entertainment. There is no day entertainment whatsoever & there aren’t even any tennis balls for the tennis court. The nightly entertainment consists of the same bloke singing the same line up of country & western everynight. He’s a top bloke but there is only so many times you can listen to the same songs.

The rooms are small & outdated & if you are unfortunate enough to end up on a sofa bed I hope you don’t value your back - mine didn’t even have any slats in it. I travelled with a 9 week old baby & I emailed the hotel to ask for a cot - I had a reply that I could have one free of charge. When I got there, there was no cot so after complaining to the (rude) staff, one was eventually brought up. But the cot was a health hazzard – it was broken on one side & the bottom wasn’t safe to put a cat in, so my 9 week old baby ended up staying in bed with me, im not impressed with that alone.

The hotel is in a good location but that’s about all it’s got going for it. Stay here at your own peril.
