Pelicanos / Ocas Hotel Sol – Benidorm – Costa Blanca
We were in the Ocas building (Pelicanos is separate). The room was a bit small with 3 beds but we were only sleeping in it!
Very clean bathroom, spotless, with shampoo, shower gel & soap and clean towels everyday. Had a TV in the room but only one English channel and never watched it! The room had air con thank God! It faced the road but the noise wasn’t too excessive!
The food wasn’t up to much, but have paid more and had worse in other hotels! My kid’s a fussy eater but ate croissants! Breakfast was the best meal although the omelette queue could get big but it was staffed by just one woman with two pans!
Never bothered much with entertainment or the kid’s club as it was mostly Spanish, but I see that as a good sign if the locals like it then it’s usually good. One problem I did have was the stag party’s behaviour round the pool – no wonder Brits abroad have a bad name in Benidorm. I love a good party as much as anyone, if not more, but when there is as many kids around you would think they would tone it down a bit. The pool area in Pelicanos is amazing, only problem was it was so warm! And the usual sunbed fights but the lifeguard was not bad at removing the towels!
Overall was a great hotel & would return.
