Booked as a Secret room hotel with lastminute. com, at a cost of £265 for 3 nights. It was a great price for package holiday at a fabulous hotel. It’s located just 100 yards from the Gloucester Road tube station, but on a quiet side street. There were plenty of restaurants, cafes & pubs in the vicinity, although I wouldn’t describe the area as busy.

The reception staff were great, we were in our rooms in a matter of minutes, & told if there was anything they could help us with either to phone or pop down to reception. The room was a fairly decent size with plenty of cupboard & drawer space. There was the usual complimentary tea & coffee tray complete with biscuits, and a mini bar & fridge. The items in the mini bar were very pricey, so we bought our own bottles of water & just used the fridge.

The room & bedlinen were spotless, & we could even select the type of pillow we wanted. Robes & slippers were available. Although the furniture looked fairly old you could tell it was quality. The bathroom was a decent size with piping hot water, & some luxurious toiletries, which were replaced daily. We didn’t have food here as even breakfast was £18 per person & it was only continental. Hubby had hoped to use the sauna but we were so busy there just wasn’t time. Would I stay here again? If the price was right – definitely.
