Europa Park Hotel H10 – Salou – Costa Dorada

I went with my daughter & her boyfriend to the Europa Park hotel in Salou, requesting a double & single room & had also emailed the hotel in advance to request poolside rooms. We were not disappointed.

I had a double bed in a beautifully presented single room. The balcony for this single room was incredibly small & the chairs on it had to be moved before you could open the shutters plus there was no drying space. My daughter’s balcony however was of adequate size for their needs with a dryer as well.

We were pleased to find that the free 24″ flat screen TV showed BBC 1, CBBC, BBC2 & BBC3 as well as the usual news channels. The hotel & the rooms were spotless. The bathroom had a full-size bath & perfectly adequate shower. The air conditioning was very effective which was very welcome.

The food in the hotel was always hot but sometimes the choices were slightly limited although never in a way that we could not put together some sort of meal. The pound being weak against the euro meant that we were paying £2.40 for a one & half litre bottle of water each evening. We ordered a takeaway breakfast for our early return & it had everything from water, fruit juice, sandwiches, roll & biscuits.

The small swimming pool was too deep for non-swimmers, the outer edges being 1.4 metres deep & the middle being 1.6 mtrs. Some of the sunbeds were new & multipositional but all were mesh rather than hard plastic. The pool doesn’t open until 9am & it was fun to watch people run to get their spot for the day. The hotel hires big beach towels for a 10 euro returnable deposit.

The safe in the room were also free with a returnable 10 euro deposit also. The hotel is in a busy area but once inside you didn’t notice that. The bars, shop & beach were all just a few minutes away.
