Best Sol d’Or Hotel – La Pineda – Costa Dorada

We have just returned from the Best Sol d’Or hotel! We only booked a week before we travelled so we had very little choice & having read the reviews online, we were slightly concerned! But what a great holiday!

Firstly, the hotel isn’t in Salou as some sites state, it’s in La Pineda whiuch is a 15 minute bus journey from Salou. Bars, shops & the Aquapolis Waterpark line a clean promenade parallel to the beach, just two minutes walk from the hotel! The hotel is also spotlessly clean. We were allocated two rooms with three beds in each overlooking the pool area. There is no need to fight for sunbeds here as there were plenty. There were a variety of nationalities at the hotel but they were all very friendly & a lot of Spanish people take their holidays there, which must be a compliment!

The all-inclusive food was superb! Breakfast consisted of the usual English breakfast, including scrambled, boiled, poached or fried eggs. A chef made your fried eggs fresh on a griddle, cooked to your requirements, and he also made omelettes at your request & had a constant flow of fresh pancakes! Lunch & evening meals also had the chef doing burgers, hot dogs & a choice of meat or fish cooked while you wait (although the wait was sometimes tedious). This was all in addition to the usual hot buffet which always had a nice choice of meat, fish, chips, veg etc. The All-inclusive snacks, (burgers, hot dogs, chips, toasties, ice cream & lollies) were available from 10am-11pm from the bar.

All-inclusive drinks ran from 10am-11.30pm & included a couple of cocktails and some nice quality drinks. A pool table was available for all-inclusive guests too. The entertainment wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad – in 9 nights we had only one night where we could say it was poor & there was a mini disco every night. The enertainments team worked hard providing activities throughout the day.

I would recommend the Best Sol d’Or hotel without hesitation.
