Papantonia Hotel – Protaras – Cyprus

Hotel is spotless cleaning staff do a brilliant job keeping it clean although bedrooms a bit dated we were half board & still provided with a kettle & toaster (previously been to Zante & had no kettle or toaster & we were self catering).

Rooms cleaned regularly & clean towels provided.

Cyprus is a beautiful country & the best family holiday we have had, Protaras is lovely & the hotel is in a great location 10 min walk along the beach to the main town full of bars restaurants & a gorgeous beach but if you donÂ’t like walking the bus stop is a short walk away & runs to Protaras, Ayia Napia Nissi beach & the water park & is two euro for a day ticket.

Must do’s: a visit to the waterpark/boat trip from Protaras snorkeling provided drinks lunch etc. & also a visit to the brilliant Romeos in Protaras it’s a traditional Greek restaurant & on wed sun & fri does a Greek night of superb Greek delights excellent entertainment & they get all the crow involved best night out not to be missed enjoyed by all age groups.

Warning though do not book trips through first choice as one they tend to cancel usually the day before therefore too late to book alternative trip & two they are a total rip off best bet go into Protaras & plenty of places do trips also there is a stall on beach front selling all the boat trips & the lovely Egyptian guy will do great deals for you.

Can’t comment on hotel entertainment as went out of the hotel every eve (local bar station pub & only fools & horses & western bar mojitos good craic for all the family)

Food-wise edible food, gets a bit repetitive but to be expected next time would either go self catering or bed & breakfast as plenty of places to eat for cheap & would recommend a place on Protaras beach front where all salad is freshly grown out the back of the restaurant.
