The hotel and surrounds are very clean, the staff all friendly including cleaning staff second visit to this hotel and have stayed in both old and new and have done both AI and self catering. There was a good variety of food on offer if not a little bit bland and unadventurous, the breakfasts were vast with fresh pancakes and french toast as well as traditional English and continental. Always lots of salad avaialable and a good variety of veg. The drinks were local imitations but perfectly fine, I did however stay away from the wine. The meal in a greek resturant was lovely with huge portions, the mexican however was a waste of time a let down for the hotel. The restuarants that are slightly further away from the hotel towards the harbour were very nice and not expensive you just had to walk 10 mins or so to get to them.

The kids all enjoyed the kids clubs, but they put all the 3 – 8 agegroup in together which is a bit boring for the two 8 year olds we have. My 10 year old went to wavelength and had a great time and made lots of friends, he also joined in with the numurous activities put on each day by the pool including raft building, archery and many others. We didn’t send the baby to the creche so can’t comment on that. He was very happy in the great splash park.

This years entertainment team were very good, the kids discos were fun but too many games that dragged on and not enough dancing we didn’t stay after the disco so not sure what variety of entertainment there was.

Good location and good facilities for the family. Hotel needs an update but food good with lots of choice. Staff helpfull. However, just started all inclusive and this has led to some less than ideal behaviour with ‘guests’ eating and drinking in the indoor pool, plates and left over food left over night around the pool area. Sun beds ‘towelled’ from 6am with owners turning up late afternoon….very poor behaviour. Spoke to lots of regulars who will not be returning as it’s starting to go down hill.
It’s not a four star by any meanings and Constantinou Brothers Hotels (Athena Beach, Athena Royal Beach) which are next door are real four star.
The family enjoyed stay but soft drinks expensive at £3 for an apple juice. In harbour expect to pay £4.80 for soft drinks drinks. It is expensive.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at the Aloe Hotel
and can honestly say I will not be going back there.
I have stayed in Paphos many times in different hotels/apartments/villas and on this occasion decided to stay at the Aloe as the reviews I read on this site were OK and Thompsons gave it a 4T rating.

I knew the location and have stayed nearby the Aloe in the past and it looks a decent hotel on the exterior.Until you go through the doors.
Dark, dismal lobby. Our room was seaview(the only good thing about it) and the furniture was old, tired and grubby.Mould on the bedside lamps and curtains.Dirty carpets(my grandsons feet were black from running around the room with no sandals),spring on side of mattress breaking through,broken/taped up tv remote, cot from the ‘ark’.
Bathroom was not bad.Shower was faulty but got that fixed.Towels were changed everyday.
Can only repeat what other people have said about the safe/mini bar.
No tea/coffee making facilities, one English speaking tv channel.

Breakfast was OK but as soon as it is 10 am thats it.
The tiredness extends to outside especially the childrens play area which was overgrown with a hole in the side hedge which led into the field next door. Not very secure.

Entertainment non existent and one large lobby area to sit in with a tv in one section and small shop.

Didn’t eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food.
Plenty of good restaurants within 5-10 min walk.

If you stay here don’t expect 4 star.More like 2.

We stayed in the Alexander the Great for the first time and we had a great holiday.
I had lost my father not long before and just wanted a peaceful break with nice surroundings / people and the hotel provided all of this.

It is very central with geat staff but the one big problem is the openair disco across the road and the boy racers with loud cars until 4am.

I would stay again but only with a seaview away from the noise.

We stayed in 105. A lovely apartment, slightly set back, so very private on the balcony which had all day sun. Roomy and well maintained with excellent facilities.
The pool was very clean with plenty of room around it, so it was not necessary to go to the beach all the time.
