We stayed self catering at the Flamingo Suites Hotel. The luxury accommodation is first class, very clean, very spacious, & quiet. The hotel is in a great location with everything on the doorstep.
Everything from the booking of the holiday to the hotel staff were so friendly (Gail the UK contact, Anna on reception at the resort. We now have stayed at Flamingo suites 4 times in 3 years, love Tenerife and will definitely do it all again.
We were greeted in reception by the staff & were offered champagne and seated while we waited our turn to check in & our bags were put on a trolly ready to be taken to our room. We were given our room keys (cards), a card each to get a towel to use by the pool, and the receptionist gave us hotel details. She was very polite & informed us there would be someone to help 24 hours a day. …

Colon II are the best kept apartments we have visited. Spotless all over what a great team of workers this apartment has. Warm friendly & very central. Everything that you would require with self catering apartments supplied for you.
When you are fully inclusive, you can only use the downstairs bar which shuts at 22.30, or you have to pay in the bar upstairs. I paid three euro to use the sauna downstairs, the boards were broken, no coals on the fire and it was dirty. …

Had to use extra holidays up so my son and I got a late deal to the Oro Negro. Had read good reports and weren’t disappointed. Panoramic views as our rooms were on the 11th floor. Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, comfy beds, good maid service. Good public areas. Lively during the day with activities round the pool and gardens, - the rep Oscar deserves an Oscar for his enthusiasm and range of games.
Quiet at night - no drunken behaviour from rowdy groups. Food was excellent, always lots …

Recommended for its location, pool and entertainment.
we stayed in block E, overlooking the pool and with sea views.Room was adequate, clean towels 7 out of 10 days.Kitchen equipment dated. beds uncomfortable and although clean sheets, the blankets were old and filthy. Floor was not swept in all the days we were there, so was really dirty.
The entertainment was very good, led by the excellent Big Ed,who did a great job with both the kids and the adults alike.
Although basic, i would certainly use this hotel again, as its idealy located for all the bars and restaurants in the area.
Its only 5 minutes to the beach using the passage next to the Irish pub facing hotel.

i visited the malibu hotel for two weeks in march 09… our apartments were cleaned every 3days but more if you requested at reception.the pool was nice but other than that there is only a tiny park for children.i wouldnt advise anyone with mobility problems to stay here as to reach the beach, good bars, shopping centres and clubs there are lots of steep hills to go up and down,we just managed with pushchairs but wheelchairs would be extremely difficult(having said that a taxi from the malibu to the main stretch is only 6euros) the staff are very friendly and there is a really cheap shop 2minuits away for food, alcohol, nappies etc when you arrive ask the staff where all the exits are as we were going the long way round for the first 8days of our stay. all in all it was a comfortable, enjoyable holiday and out of the 8 of us that went only the children complained.

After reading the reviews we were not looking foward to our holiday but were very pleasently suprised.
The complex is huge and does have hills but they are no where near as bad as previously commented on.
Our room was clean, maids cleaned everyday except thurs sun, beds changed once a week which i dont think is enough but it’s not really the end of the world.
We never had a problem with hot water but did hear some people complaining.
The pool is excellentfor the kids and very clean.
We did see cockraoches but not in our rooms and it is Tenerife they do have cockraoches! also cats but again never bothered us!
Overall if you’ve booked here and are reading these reviews before you travel then please dont worry, you get what you pay for and they really are ok!

Arrived to be told we had a lovely room on the FOURTH floor, after we had e-mailed the hotel asking for hign floor, we were somewhat disappointed. Fist thing at reception on ckecking in was to be given a ticket that would, we were told, entitle us to somelunch on our LAST day. Didn’t really want to think about that before we even got our feet through the door. The hotel was basically kept clean, plenty of room for sunbeds. The food was very very disappointing though, same fare every day so it seemed. Abysmal attempts at pizzas, spaghetti bolognaise sauce every day, but no pasta to go with it????? Thank goodness for ice-cream, woild have come way hungry many times had it not been for that.
Entertainments quite sad really, althogh he team did do a reasonalby fgood job (for amateurs) at Mama Mia, (although they are NOT supposed to be amateurs are they?).
All in all, the weather was quite good which saved what would have otherwise been a thoroughly miserable week.
