Holiday Tags: Cyprus

17 of my family all stayed at this hotel for my mam & dad’s wedding & overall we all had an excellent time, also celebrating my 21st & my grandma’s 70th birthdays.

The hotel was really clean & the maids cleaned the rooms regularly. The pool area was also very clean.

The biggest complaint we had was the food in the hotel. There was not much choice & the children in our group mostly found there was nothing at all they liked on an evening & had to be taken to Mcdonald’s; not something you would expect to do on an all inclusive holiday.

This was our first holiday to Cyprus other than stopping off for the day from a ship. The hotel was well located next to the sea, & as others have said a 30 minute walk to the port. We had paid extra for a sea view mainly to ensure our room did not overlook the road.

The view was fine & little noise was heard. The average age of customers would have been in the sixties, & a number of Tour Operators used this hotel. The hotel was clean, but a little shabby in places & the room would have been of 3 star quality rather than 4 star. I have stayed in better Travel Inn rooms in the UK.

I found the dining room & the food a little disappointing, again about 3 star quality. On the other hand the staff were very good & in particular reception staff added considerable quality to the hotel. However there is little to be said on positive note about the entertainment.

First time back to Cyprus after 14 years so was looking forward to it, arrived at hotel very late & was offered a hot drink & cake. Room was very clean had the A/C & a sea view & views over Ayia Napa. Can’t fault the hotel at all in my opinion, staff are all so friendly, food is excellent, (must have put on a few pounds) & pool was lovely. Entertainment didn’t appeal to us at all so we took walks out every night to town & drank in several bars. Must admit at first I thought we had landed at a saga hotel as there seemed to be everyone over 60! But we did manage to socialize with a few young couples as we are in our 30′s. Can’t wait to return next year but next time we are going to take the kids & book a package holiday over the road in the Tasia Maris Apartments. 5 stars for me!

My husband & I stayed at Riverside for one week in October. We were not sure what to expect after reading some reviews. We stayed in King Suite where the view was great. The terrace was very relaxing & in the evenings it was nice to have a drink there in peaceful tranquillity. We had a lovely time in beautiful surroundings.

The breakfast was great, cooked & presented beautifully. It was so nice to sit out on the terrace to have our breakfast with views of mountains on one side & sea in distance. The pools & the village are kept very clean. We had lunch by the poolside. Both of us being vegetarians, we were looked after quite well & nothing was too much for the friendly staff. It was excellent value for the money. Free of charge WiFi was a welcome change from other resorts. Riverside is a family owned holiday village & run with great pride.

Having read reports on the Pafion Sun Village in Cyprus, all I can say is that none of th reviewers can have been for half term week ending 1st November! The hotel was shutting down over the week and we had no entertainment at night apart from 3 reps singing (not so good).

What a surprise that the Kapetanios Bay Hotel is only rated as a 3 star! Our room was larger than average, in an excellent decorative condition and furnished with a wardrobe, twin beds, a casual table with two chairs, dressing table, bedside cabinet & case shelf [with draws]. It was carpeted, had a TV [local channels & a Lebanese Chanel showing films in English 24 hours a day] and FREE air-conditioning!
