At Horne Creek Living Historical Farm, a multi-year project is underway to re-construct the physical environment & seasonal work cycle of an early 20th-century family farm in the North Carolina piedmont. Visitors can encounter farm animals of all but vanished breeds once kept on the Hauser Farm or savour old-fashioned apple varieties grown in Horne Creek’s heritage apple orchard. You can try your hand at cutting grass with a scythe or listen to a talk on how to cook on a wood stove. Through educational programs ranging from white oak basket making workshops to an annual corn shucking frolic, Horne Creek Living Historical Farm provides a unique opportunity to learn about our rural past.
