The Porto Bello Royal in Kardamena is a wonderful hotel, deserving all 5 stars. Great food, friendly staff & well laid out with plenty of sun loungers.

The kid’s pool was right on the beach with a great waterslide & playground next door. I wouldn’t leave my child in the kids club though as the little building where they hold it opens out to the poolside & the reps didn’t seem too vigilant & not all spoke English. There was a real mixture of Italian,Ggerman, French & English staying there.

The entertainment does seem to cover all languages, although the only evening entertainment is in the outdoor theatre where there is no bar. All in all a very nice hotel & one which I would stay in again if I re-visit Kos and  the number of steps was not an issue for us as there are ramps around the hotel anyway.
