Poppy Apartments - Calis Beach - Turkey

We just returned from one week at the Poppy Apartments in Calis and I have never been to a palace similar in Turkey - it was absolutely awful. We had a filthy apartment with no cleaning at all in the week we were there. The bins are only emptied every other day and bear in mind in Turkey you are supposed to put used toilet paper in a bin & not in the toilet as the sewerage system is not built for toiletpaper. Instead they have a water nozzle for cleaning.

The kitchen tools were a haven for bacteria. The frying pan was old and not suitable for food preparation. I only used the kitchen cups, glasses, plates, pots & cutlery that could be sterilized by boiling in hot water.

However, I found the worst part of the holiday was the unbearable noise during the first 3 days I was there. Because the swimming pool does not have any official closing time we were subjected to a deafeningly noisy waterbattle from the same 3 English families which irritated the rest of the guests in the hotel. We had to close all doors & windows in order to find a little peace and this went on until 9PM. 

Later at night there were loud conversations going on from one balcony to another because people were drunk & very noisy. Even the owners & caretakers spent the day shouting & screaming and drinking with their friends. Finally, the apartment was crawling with ants .
