Package Holidays: Hotel Reviews | PackageHoliday.com

This category contains individual traveller reviews of various hotels and accommodations encountered while taking package holidays, from Spain to Egypt, Antigua to Greece or anywhere inbetween! These reviews are culled from around the web and do not reflect my own views, but may be useful. The one thing I’d advise caution about is that you can never be quite sure if a review is real - or if the hotel themselves are up to a few Internet tricks! Quite often you can tell from the review - whether it shows a balanced opinion etc.

If you have stayed at any of the hotels reviewed in this section, please use the Comments box on each individual review to add your own opinions and help other people at PackageHoliday [.com]. One final note, I tend to focus more on reviews of holiday packages popular with the Brits. Just the way it is ;)

Had a lovely stay at this hotel, and booked this package holiday at a lovely price. The hotel was very clean with rooms cleaned every day & fresh towels provided when left in the bath. The food was lovely & you could upgrade from half board to All-Inclusive for 20 euro per person if required. If planning to stay in the resort this was a good option as there was various places to eat & drink, not only in the San Luis hotel but you could also use the All-Inclusive in S’Algar hotel on an evening & The Palmeras hotel. The hotel had very good sporting facilities which included tennis courts, football pitch, bowling green & mountain bikes, together with plenty of play areas for children. There is free wifi internet in the reception/lounge area if you take your own laptop.

The evening entertainment was good with live acts 4 out of the 7 nights (dancing on the other 3 nights).

This hotel is excellent for anyone seeking a quite holiday in a really nice hotel with good food. All staff were extremely friendly & helpful.

Just got back from holiday in India. This hotel was in a beautiful location & the rooms were very spacious. They had a conservatory with a seating area which overlooked gardens & the mountains & countryside. There was also a rose garden. Relaxing chairs were on the veranda outside the room & also in front of the room on the lawn. There was a swimming pool but the water wasn’t very clean, don’t think it got cleaned very often. There was a bath in the very big bathroom but it had no taps or plug! There was also a shower. There was no wardrobe, only hooks but most people only seemed to stop for one or two nights anyway. The room was air conditioned & we had a fridge & fan. The hotel was in a really good location on the edge of town within easy walking distance to the sights & shops but far enough away to be really peaceful. The food in the restaurant was all vegetarian & no alcohol but they did lovely pancakes with honey for breakfast.

Well where do I start? Or do I just say excellent overall with a little minus for the nightly entertainment. The hotel is spotless from rooms to the buffet dining room. The food had plenty of choices & either eat in the dining room or in the pool bar during the day. The location was perfect with the rear of the hotel directly taking you onto the beach front & front of the hotel taking you out to shopping malls & bars just minutes away with one small “Bell” serving a great pint & friendly atmosphere just seconds from the front entrance. The location was just perfect, the beach & marina are so close & Sousse was only a short tuk tuk ride away. The room was cleaned every day & the maids were very friendly (although they spoke little English). Only problem with the room when we arrived was that the shower head would not attach to the wall, but other than that it was perfect. Only the one receptionist was rude & impatient, the others were very attentive. The animators were great, they would get everybody involved, perhaps they could be a little pushy at times (that may be because we were a group of young girls though). The waiters in the restaurant were also attentive & polite. Read the rest of this review »

We were on a bed & breakfast basis but you do need to tell the waiting staff this as we were charged for breakfast on the first day. You have a choice of Indian or American breakfast which consisted of juice, toast, butter, jam & eggs cooked to your liking. The service was a bit slow so allow plenty of time. The hotel was clean overall but the dining tables could have been cleaner. Read the rest of this review »

We had a lovely big room with complimentary toiletries in the big bathroom, also had a bath as well as shower, tea, air conditioning, coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, fridge. There was a lovely swimming pool with towels provided & gardens. There are two categories of rooms; we upgraded & it was worth it. We had a nice seating area outside our room with a balcony. The food on the first night was buffet style, but we chose from the menu on our second night. Breakfast was eggs, toast, fruit juice, tea, & coffee. The restaurant was basic but the food was good. We did eat lunch outside at tables on the lawn. The hotel is not located near anything but other hotels; most hotels seem to be in this area. There were local musicians playing on one of the nights in the garden area. We would come again.

We arrived for our holiday in Vegas, stayed initially at the Bellagio Hotel and later in the trip, took the tram from Bellagio to the Aria Hotel & Casino. The tram station is right at the back of the hotel & a bit of a hike.

We checked into the Aria at 9. 15am & there was a room ready. We were allocated room 23102 (!) on the 23rd floor & we were upgraded to a City View which is normally $30 a night extra although I don’t think it’s worth paying the extra for myself.

There were a few minor issues that I didn’t expect in a hotel of this calibre that had only been open 3 months. There was no ashtray in the room so I had to call down for one. The furnishings were quite dusty probably because the dark wood furniture & glass tops attract dust. There were cup/glass ring marks on glass top above mini bar which hadn’t been cleaned. There was a blown bulb in the bathroom & the windows were filthy. Nothing that was worth complaining about, but issues we haven’t had in hotels of a much lower standard than Aria is supposed to be. My husband & I stayed at Riverside for one week in October. We were not sure what to expect after reading some reviews. We stayed in King Suite where the view was great. The terrace was very relaxing & in the evenings it was nice to have a drink there in peaceful tranquillity. We had a lovely time in beautiful surroundings.

The breakfast was great, cooked & presented beautifully. It was so nice to sit out on the terrace to have our breakfast with views of mountains on one side & sea in distance. The pools & the village are kept very clean. We had lunch by the poolside. Both of us being vegetarians, we were looked after quite well & nothing was too much for the friendly staff. It was excellent value for the money. Free of charge WiFi was a welcome change from other resorts. Riverside is a family owned holiday village & run with great pride.

The hotel was in a very quiet location. We hired a car for the week & wouldn’t have been without it. Lots of nice places nearby to visit. The family that runs the hotel are lovely, very friendly, whose sole aim seems to be to make you welcome & enjoy your holiday. We were there a week before they closed for the season so very quiet & the shelves in the supermarket were mostly empty. The bar had started to run down on supplies too but nothing too inconvenient. The apartments are very spacious; room 219 had a terrace instead of small balcony overlooking the pool. Overall it was a nice package holiday at a good price. Will be visiting again.

My partner & I stayed here in October 09. This was our 1st time in Lanzarote & we certainly chose well. First the positive. We had a lovely apartment (room 216) overlooking the pool, which caught the sun beautifully as the sun came up. Room was cleaned & sheets were changed regularly. Nice big apartment with separate living area to bedroom & a reasonable bathroom & kitchenette area, two rings, full fridge, kettle toaster etc.

Staff were polite with a ‘Hola’ each morning. Antonio the ‘Animation’ guy was great constantly talking to people round the pool & trying to get people involved with gentle exercise or water polo. Negatives: pool was a little battered with some tiny tiles coming off but still OK. Parents let there kids play in the jacuzzi which meant it was filthy most of the time even though they cleaned it almost daily.

It rained on the last day & as no one moped this up, I slipped & fell down a flight of concrete stairs, which I would have accepted as my fault if my partner had not pointed out the hazard half an hour before & nothing was done about it for two hours after! Oh dear! There’s a dive school nearby who were great & I highly recommend to any divers out there. I would definitely return & plan to book for next year’s package holiday.
