Hotel Reviews

This category contains individual traveller reviews of various hotels and accommodations encountered while taking package holidays, from Spain to Egypt, Antigua to Greece or anywhere inbetween! These reviews are culled from around the web and do not reflect my own views, but may be useful. The one thing I’d advise caution about is that you can never be quite sure if a review is real – or if the hotel themselves are up to a few Internet tricks! Quite often you can tell from the review – whether it shows a balanced opinion etc.

If you have stayed at any of the hotels reviewed in this section, please use the Comments box on each individual review to add your own opinions and help other people at PackageHoliday [.com]. One final note, I tend to focus more on reviews of holiday packages popular with the Brits. Just the way it is ;)

First off, I have to say that this was just a lovely holiday and thanks for having us!

Having friends in Beverley, I stumbled across a Google search for cottages in Beverley which threw up Broadgate Farm Cottages. The pictures looked fantastic & was just under two miles to my friends house.

Situated just a short way from the centre of Beverley passing by Westwood Pastures towards the small village of Walkington, Broadgate Farm Cottages can be found on the right hand side of the road. You need to look carefully but as you turn in, you see the sheep grazing & you then come up to the 4 cottages currently available.

A single two bedroomed cottage is the first one you see, then the other two bedroomed cottage. The 3 bedroomed cottage is joined on to the 4 bedroomed cottage & adjoining the 4 bed, a new two bedroomed cottage should be open by the autumn which will allow the 4 bed cottage to be linked & make room for 12 people to stay at once. Episkopiana Hotel – Episkopi – Cyprus

This hotel is ideal if you are hiring a car. I was using the local buses & a new timetable was in early stages of being revised. This caused some confusion but the reception staff were very helpful.

When one bus failed to turn up they took us to the centre of the village where we could catch another bus to save us waiting two hours or having half hours walk. The hotel has a bus to take you down to the beach which people were finding very convenient.

The rooms were clean & comfortable & as long as you wanted a quiet evening the hotel is fine. I prefer it this way as you can always get a taxi to the noise but if you stay in a hotel with noisy entertainment sleep can be an issue.

All in all, an affordable package holiday. I would return to this hotel again.

Pernera Beach Hotel – Protaras – Cyprus

We love this hotel, it is in a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of a road. It is the kind of place that if you wish to be in the hustle & bustle of the resort you can be, but at the end of the evening you will be glad to know it is very very quiet, oh & you can sleep.

I would highly recommend paying the etc to upgrade to sea-view, the views are exceptional, otherwise it maybe a view of the car park! Read the rest of this review »

Club Jandia Princess – Jandia – Fuerteventura

Jandia Princess is a lovely relaxing hotel complex, it is in a quiet area with no shops but that suited us.

Jandia town is quite close by about 5 kilometres away, & only one euro on the bus to get there. Rooms were cleaned every day, staff brilliant & very friendly. No problems with the food at all, just avoided the more busy times.

Lots of pools, loungers & plenty of drinks available. All in all a lovely hotel & will be going back.

Club Hotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort – Corralejo – Fuerteventura

The hotel was very clean the maids were cleaning rooms from about 8:00 am till 3:00pm so they spent a lot of time cleaning the rooms. The food was great choice in the morning you could have hot or cold food & at lunch & dinner the choice was different every day.

The location was a bit out of the way but was still good because it was quiet & you had the beach next to the hotel n the entertainment was good which kept you busy all day till 4:30pm. The staff at the hotel were really helpful & always asking is there anything else you need.

We will be returning next year without a doubt.

Terraza Mar Suites – Puerto Rico – Gran Canaria

We stayed here with our 18 year old son & we thought these apartments were great. They were spotless & very friendly. The balcony was massive & the living space was ample-looking around I think we made the right choice. We have visited Gran Canaria a few times but we normally go to Melonares which is very low key, Puerto Rico was an eye opener-very lively, we enjoyed our stay & was perfect for a week.

We ate out every night & would recommend MURPHYS KITCHEN, the food was really nice & homely & the staff where first class, we went to a few nice restaurants & paid about £70 euros for the three of us but had a nicer meal at MURPHYS & it was as cheap as anything. All in all we had a great time, I would recommend these apartments you wont be disappointed. Read the rest of this review »

Iberostar Torviscas Playa Hotel – Playa de las Americas – Tenerife

Our 3rd stay at this hotel, our first being 2007 as a couple then 2010 as a 1st family holiday & again this year as a family. After a fabulous holiday in 2007 at this hotel we knew we would become regular visitors!

We found the hotel yet again spotless. The pool area is well looked after too, plenty of loungers & parasols. Food was excellent, plenty of choice even for our fussy two year old. Always hot, fresh & enjoyable. The location is brilliant just out of the back gate is the beach, McDonald’s, bars restaurants, shops giving you plenty to do & not far away from the hotel itself.

The staff are excellent, warm & welcoming from reception & animacion team, to waiting & bar staff to the maids, all very polite & always greet you with a “hola”. We recognized staff from 2007 during our visit in 2010 & they were there again this year, which is lovely to see. Read the rest of this review »

Jardin Del Mar Apartments – Santa Ponsa – Majorca

Just back from a 4 night stay at the Jardin de Mar. It was a nice airy hotel & the room although small was pleasant & with a sea view.

The kitchen was not well stocked & anything other than tea & coffee would be difficult to produce but I don’t go on holiday to cook!

It was very quiet but being out of season to be expected. All in all a very nice hotel and a good location.

Plazamar Apartments – Santa Ponsa – Majorca

We stayed in a studio in the Plazamar in June 2011. The good bits: the hotel is very clean & the room was spacious with a medium, but adequate, sized balcony. The balcony faced the mountains & there was a lovely view.

It is situated away from the town, but only a five minute walk away so not next to rowdy pubs, etc. There is a small supermarket just around the corner. Staff are very pleasant & always smiling & willing to help. You can get basic, good food on site in the bar/restaurant. Read the rest of this review »
