Oasis Park - Cala’n Forcat - Menorca

Just returned from Oasis Park in Cala’n Forcat and we had a great holiday there. We met some of the best people and here are some positives & negatives for anyone considering going here:

NEGATIVES -
# - Rooms are very, very basic and in need of an urgent refurb
# - The maid service isn’t daily, so towels are only changed every 2nd day & sheets only on a Sat & Thu. I didn’t like this at all
# - There is NO AIR CONDITIONING (but fans can be hired)
# - Bar prices are far too high for families on a budget: 5,50 euros for a spirit & splash
# - No beach to speak of, & even on the tiny cove they call a beach you still have to pay for one of the few sunbeds!

POSITIVES -
# - Menorca is a great place to holiday with younger children and the kid’s clubs here were brilliant, worked from morning until night.
# - the staff are lovely in every area of the complex
# - entertainment is varied & entertaining for adults as well as children. The team that is there at present is the best I have ever seen. They try & involve the audience but are not pushy at all.
# - A great selection of restaurants can be found at the end of the road. Some of our favourites were: The Black Horse chip shop (through the blue arch, past Frankie’s), Hawitti, and Castaways do the best breakfast, especially if you are Scottish because you can get square sausage & potato scones!
# - It’s a great place to meet great people if you want to, everyone is so friendly here and it is easy to get together after dinner for bingo & the games or the show & just have a laugh instead of sitting on your own with just your family.
# - good selection of supermarkets within easy reach: there is an Asda across the road from the Oasis Park complex which is cheapest, especially for lilos & blow-up tyres etc.
# - if the entertainment at the Oasis Park complex doesn’t suit you, Jimmy Hills around the corner is a fantastic place for shows. This is a massive space with a load of bars surrounding a stage & every night they have different tribute acts on, Westlive (Westlife), Abba, Fake That, Divas Las Vegas (Shania Twain, Cher, Christina Aguilara, Madonna). No matter what bar you sit in, you see the stage, but get in early for seats as show starts at 10pm & seats are all gone by then.

Anyone with a young family will LOVE Oasis Park although older kids (like mine!) could get bored if they don’t meet other kids their age. I would not recommend it for singles or anyone wishing a quiet or rowdy holiday at all.
