Letoonia Golf Resort - Belek - Turkey

We enjoyed our week at Letoonia Golf Resort and found it great value for money, whilst not quite a 5 star, it compared well with other hotels in the area It was £200 per person cheaper than the hotel we stayed in last year. Some things were a bit disappointing but other things were excellent. It was a bit wet and cool during our week in May so we didn’t really experience it at its best. It was quite cool (cold even) at night, so you were limited to what bars you could go to. Most are outside. The over stretched indoor bar staff often served up incorrect drinks, or forgot somebody’s. They served mostly local drinks, we had baileys one night but after that they had always run out? The al a carte restaurant’s were mostly booked up and on the odd occasion we did eat there, it felt slightly rushed. The waiters wanting to take your order for all three courses and running through the list with you(to hurry you up). The Asian restaurant was in a lovely setting though, on the edge of the river that runs before the beach.

All the food was excellent, wherever you ate. Wines were particularly good in the Mediterranean restaurant and the Al a carte.

Everywhere is thoroughly cleaned every day, the rooms are spacious with a giant bed (two doubles stuck together) The bath, was very narrow, either for sitting in or standing in for a shower. It seemed a bit dangerous, as you didn’t have a flat piece to stand on.

The spa was beautiful, with pool and Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, steam room, sauna and massage rooms. All decorated with a dark Asian style and candles. It was expensive 55 euros for Turkish bath and massage but it looked so beautiful we decided to splash out. Again I was disappointed. After our scrub in the Turkish bath the Masseurs came and advised us that we really should have a facial after the all over scrub. Now I didn’t want to spend more that the 110 euros we had already forked out, so it made me uncomfortable to have to tell them that I didn’t want it. This was when we were supposed to be relaxing. The massage wasn’t really relaxing either as I found it painful on the calves. Once she had finished she left you to relax all wrapped up in the towels but she was back within 3 minutes. Again you felt rushed, and it wasn’t as if they were busy.

The entertainment team were very good. There were quite a few of them and they provided all day activities and put on a show in the evening in the ampi theatre.
