Holiday Inn - Cavelossim - Goa

Very Clean hotel. Very polite, helpful staff. Almost TOO polite and helpful if thats possible!!

Good location if you want a fairly quiet holiday, right on Mobor beach, with a few very charming shacks right outside the hotel on the beach. We were all inclusive, and the Indian food at the hotel (especially in cafe Mardi Gras) was truly AMAZING. Any non indian food in the three other eateries was not so good. especially the chinese ‘whispers of the orient’, which took a long time to be cooked seen as we were the only customers, and we think the food here was responsible for my partners terrible stomach upset for two days.
Candelossim is only a short taxi ride away with an ATM and several resteraunts, though we didnt visit any of them. The hotel has a gift shop, also selling suncream and some useful products though anything imported is expensive (small nivea suncream - £9!)

We stayed toward the very end of the season (april 18th - 26th) and so the hotel was very quiet, especially in the evenings, with the exception of the second night when we attended a Fish Bazaar BBQ at the Fish Grill restraunt.
The entertainment that night was excellent. especially the ‘African Acrobats’. For the rest of the week though we felt fairly bored in the evenings, especially as consumption alcohol was banned in Goa for two days due to elections (on my partners birthday too!) There was entertainment every night in lobby bar until approx 1030pm but mostly very low quality. I suspect this was due to the time in the season we visited.

Should you visit this hotel?

if you dont like to leave the hotel too much, and don’t want anywhere too noisy, with plenty of security day and night…YES… but go all inclusive, but be aware that it only runs until 11pm, and many alcoholic drinks are not included at all.

Would we visit again, if we wanted to go to Mobor beach, and had children, yes. and go much earlier in season. between December and March.
If we just wanted to go somehwere in Goa….probably not.
