Elpis Studios and Apartments - Bali - Crete
We stayed at Elpis apartments in Bali on Crete. Bali is a very pretty village and the manager & his wife of these apartments were very rude, arrogant and not helpful at all.
When I booked these apartments I was not informed there would be no rep. There was nothing for my 14 year daughter to do and the only kids around where young Dutch kids, about 8 years old, who between 10pm & midnight made a lot of noise running around screaming & jumping on the stage.
The manager was very rude to me when I informed him the fridge door handle & TV was broken - he told me I would have to pay or leave the apartments but when he heard me speaking Italian he told me it was OK, but next time I would have to pay. So if I was English he would throw us out?! They were never repaired.
I felt uncomfortable & unwelcome, there was no entertainment in the day for the teenagers or even in the evening and the poolside bar was shut most days & evenings due to not being busy. In the end I found entertainment at the Bali Paradise hotel, even though it was full of French, and they were very welcoming & said we could go anytime to their open-air theatre to see the shows, which were free & very good. It did dance shows & some comedy.
The tours were limted, not much on offer, but we went to Chania one day on the bus (2hrs journey) but it was very pretty. Also we visited Rethymon which was only 40mins away on the bus and beautiful with it’s cobbled streets & beautiful churches. I will not be going back to the Elpis studios again, but Bali I would go for a day trip maybe.
