Ekinci Palace Apartments - Icmeler - Turkey
I arrived in Icmeler on the 22nd June 2009. We were greeted by my parents who had already been there a week & once we checked in at the Ekinci Palace apartments we were greeted by Gerrard, who took our luggage to our rooms (he was also a waiter at the Bahama bar by the pool).
Our room was clean & spacious. After we had settled in, we headed for the pool which was great! It was very clean & the water slide that opened at 12-00 was great (even my 51 yr old mum & dad went on it) & the staff around the pool were always there to assist in anything you wanted.
The food at the hotel was simple but just what you need (the English breakfast was brill). The location of the hotel was good a 10 min walk into the town which had plenty of bars, restaurants & shops etc. We didn’t stay for much of the entertainment in the hotel as there is a lot to do in Icmeler, although we did watch the robot/break dancing and Devil show which was very good.
We had a set menu prepared for us by Micheal for 20lira per person (children ate free), that included a free drink & 3 course meal for less than a tenner. The cleaning staff were freindly & very helpful. The only negative thing I have to say is that on departure day, I handed in my key, safe key & air conditioning remote & checked out as normal, but 10 minutes later the chap on reception asked if I came from 505 & produced a towel which had come from my room which was soiled (it had been near the sink for one week) & he asked me to pay for the towel. I refused point blank & he got very annoyed & said something in Turkish to me, in which I replied “same to you”. He did not like this & told me to “forget it”, which I did. It was a little face towel that I had to use to dry my coffe cups, plates etc.
Other than that I had a great time & loved my weeks holiday with the family. I would definately return to Ekinci Palace.
