Club Letoonia - Fethiye - Turkey
We just returned from Letoonia Club in Fethiye and what a great holiday! There were a lot of steps (94) to our room but as we had done our homework before we went we expected that. For 2010 the hotel is installing lifts but I wouldn’t go there if you have mobility problems or little ones.
ROOMS
In need of a little updating (will be in 2010 apparently) but it was very clean & spacious. We had clean, fluffy towels, every day. There are also bathrobes & slippers. Air conditioning was first class (individually controlled), the safety deposit box is also in the room (all included).
FOOD/DRINKS
The food was excellent with good choice & variation. We eat at the Lykia & the Moonlight restaurant most evenings; The Moonlight was our favourite as it has a very relaxed atmosphere & spectacular panoramic views. We did try the ‘al a carte’ kebab restaurant and again we could not fault it but we didn’t try the other ala carte restaurants although the fish restuarant looked fantastic with torches alight in the sea. There are also good quality snacks served throughout the day at various beach & pool locations. Panorama bar is open 24/7 & if you are peckish they have sandwiches - just ask the barman.
SUNBATHING/POOLS
They are at various locations around the pool/beach areas. There are also small jetties with bean bags, shaded areas with hammocks & chaise longue (very comfortable). There are small coves with just two sunbeds if you like peace & quiet or a beach with 40 beds & more activity. If you want a sunbed in a particular area you have to get up early but there are enough sunbeds for everyone. There are 3 swimming pools, a children’s pool with play area & a therapy pool (28°). The water sports are free to use but the paragliding and jet skis are not.
LOCATION/GROUNDS
Letoonia is actually on a peninsula with a taxi boat costing 10 lira return from Fethiye. The grounds are kept immaculate, there are so many different plants & trees, it is very colourful, when you walk around the grounds there are statues dotted about, it’s like walking through a park. There is even someone brushing the pebbles back into the sea off the walk-way & the sand on the beach is raked every night.
ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment team work extremely hard, organising games throughout the day, then a show most evenings. The shows are not to be missed and every show was very professional, the very top end of the scale for holiday entertainment. The costumes, dancing & props were brilliant, best we’ve ever seen on holiday.
STAFF/WAITERS
The staff were very attentive throughout the holiday. Whether you were the first person in the restaurant or the last, the tables were always prepared, the bar staff were very quick and the tables were always cleared very quickly. The staff are always smiling & always have time for a quick chat (albeit in broken English)
SPA
We were amazed when we went there how under-used it was as the spa is included in the AI cost, however the treatments are not. I had a great massaage. We used the facilites, & used them on our last day as we had to be out of our room by 12 & weren’t being picked up until 6pm, so we used the spa & showers & hairdryers, freshened up for our journey home, what a way to end our hols.
