Babadan Apartments - Icmeler - Turkey
Babadan apartments, Icmeler. Our apartment was located on the first floor in the main block overlooking the road.
We really enjoyed our two weeks at the Babadan apartments. They are located about 10 easy minutes stroll from the beach, & 5 mins from the centre of Icmeler. The apartment was spacious; one bedroom with two single beds, bathroom with shower & a kitchen living room which had a double sofa bed settee & a single bed/chair. Could have slept up to five, so plenty of space for the three of us. The apartment also had a big patio that had table & four chairs for outside dining. There was no TV in the room. There’s plenty of TVs in the bar & restaurant if needed.
The beds were all comfortable & in really good condition (no saggy mattress here!) . Linen & towels (all clean & in good condition) were changed 2-3 times per week & the excellent maid service cleaned similar. Rubbish was collected daily.
Kitchen was equipped with more than we expected; kettle, toaster, microwave, hob fridge & plenty of utensils, & enough crockery/cutlery for four.
The bathroom was also well equipped & there were towels for all. The shower, while small for those with big frames, was powerful & the shower screen adequately kept the room dry. Don’t leave it too late though, as the partially solar powered hot water does turn lukewarm for those who bathe late!
The apartments have two pools (both with baby pools attached & there were slides & play areas by the back pool). We mainly used the back pool as it was quieter & had variable depth from 1. 25m to 1. 6m, & although it was partially shaded early in the day it soon (from 11:00ish) came under full sun. At either pool there was plenty of sunbeds - more than the early morning towel brigade could reserve lol. Pool areas were well maintained & kept clean, as was the pools.
The staff were excellent; always helpful, polite & never over pushy. Very nice people. The Babadan team organise entertainment nights on most evenings that always appeared well attended. We went to the Turkish night that was surprising & included more than the usual obligatory belly dancer & break-dancers - although they were excellent. We have seen a few Turkish nights over the years but the folk dancers were a great addition & it’s the first time we have seen almost everyone dancing at the end.
We ate in the restaurant for a couple of evening meals, some breakfasts & a few snacks. All food was well prepared, cooked & served. If there were not so many great places to eat in Icmeler we probably would have been happy to eat at the hotel more. Our youngest declared their pancakes the best in Icmeler. Some compliment from someone who has tried so many lol.
The apartment ’s 24 hour mini mart was very competitively priced & well stocked with the basics. We rarely found the need to get these elsewhere, which left us better able to pick up the more exotic items from Tansas & elsewhere lol.
The Thomson kid’s club seemed well supported & the children who went looked like they enjoyed it.
If visiting Icmeler again we would happily go back to the Babadan apartments again.
