Hotel Reviews

This category contains individual traveller reviews of various hotels and accommodations around the world, from Spain to Egypt, Antigua to Greece or anywhere inbetween! These reviews are culled from around the web and do not reflect my own views, but may be useful. The one thing I’d advise caution about is that you can never be quite sure if a review is real - or if the hotel themselves are up to a few Internet tricks! Quite often you can tell from the review - whether it shows a balanced opinion etc.

If you have stayed at any of the hotels reviewed in this section, please use the Comments box on each individual review to add your own opinions and help other people at PackageHoliday [.com]. One final note, I tend to focus more on reviews of holiday packages popular with the Brits. Just the way it is ;)

We stayed at the Belisaire Hotel (Iberostar) in Hammamet for 2 weeks in October 2009. The hotel reception looks very nice when you arrive in the middle of the night, but as there’s no porter you end up taking your bags to the room yourselves. Myself and my hubby travelled with his brother & his & we had a room with interconnecting doors. The room was very clean & a maid came in every day to replace towels & sweep up etc. so no complaints there. Read the rest of this review »

Peter’s Kool Pool Appartments are basic but that’s hardly unusual on a holiday package in Greece and the most important factor is that they are clean. The cleaner comes in every day except Sunday & the bed linen & towels are changed at least twice a week. The Appartments have all you need for self catering but there are so many places to eat in the Village of Kardamena that you’re better off going out. Read the rest of this review »

We enjoyed a really good week at the Moevenpick in Taba. We had not stayed with this hotel chain before but will now be more inclined to consider this chain in our search for future holidays. Read the rest of this review »

I first stayed at the Park Lane Aparthotel with my husband on a self-catering basis in September 2009. The rooms in the main hotel are clean, spacious & modern with everything you need from an apartment. Read the rest of this review »

We booked a package holiday to the Marmaris Park hotel & stayed in rooms 686 & 688. The hotel is a very nice place to stay in, & is on the very end of the Marmaris/Icmeler border. Read the rest of this review »

November 22nd 2009. First up, you should know that I love Las Vegas. It’s hard to convince non-gamblers just why they have to go there, and until you have you’ll probably never understand just what it is about the place. The vibe of the Strip, the sheer extravagance, the architecture and the lights. Lots of lights! This was my second trip to Las Vegas and after staying downtown the first time, this time I chose to stay at the Encore Hotel, sister casino and look-a-like to the Wynn to which it is adjoined via an up-market shopping arcade.

I get excited just looking out the window on the plane as you land - the runway we came in on at Las Vegas (flying from LHR with BA) ran parallel to the Strip and at night it’s just an incredible sight. It doesn’t matter how long your flight was, the sight just puts you in the mood! You can see the Wynn and Encore to the North of the Strip as you come in, both looking identical and, by Vegas standards, understated. It’s a 15 minute cab ride to the hotel - $20, or $25 if they go via the Interstate. Read the rest of this review »

We visited the Eken hotel in Gumber with a bit of trepidation. We’d heard mixed reports about the hotel & the travel company, but the moans & groans were unfounded. We were a mixed company of kids & adults & we all had a great time. The rooms were clean & bright & must have been recently decorated. The rooms were tidied every day, but towels were only changed every 2/3 days. Read the rest of this review »

We had a short 4 night stay at the (oddly named) Dynastic Park hotel in Benidorm & on our arrival found very good English-speaking reception staff and we were booked in very quickly. The hotel has a very big reception area with plenty of soft seating areas and lots of glass. Read the rest of this review »

Arrived at the Excalibur late evening on a Friday after our flight to Las Vegas from New York had been delayed for over 4 hours. We were rather exhausted & as we made our way to registration (reception) we were approached by a hotel employee who asked us where we were from & ushered us over to a desk “to receive free gifts”. Turns out this desk was trying to sell us tickets to shows, sight seeing tours etc & there was in fact nothing free at all! Not that I was bothered as I wanted to get to my room but what a hard sell! Just as we had arrived & hadn’t even checked in! Read the rest of this review »

Having read reports on the Pafion Sun Village in Cyprus, all I can say is that none of th reviewers can have been for half term week ending 1st November! The hotel was shutting down over the week and we had no entertainment at night apart from 3 reps singing (not so good). Read the rest of this review »
