Website Updates

I’ve added a videos section to Package Holiday which checks Lonely Planet on a daily basis for new travel videos and imports them into the site. Each video is generally a few minutes long and shows a specific destination and/or attractions linked to certain destinations. You can comment on each video and leave information for other travellers if you have visited the place in question.

Destination Videos

August 28th 2008: I’ve added a new page detailing some of my tips for finding great package holidays. It contains a few bits and pieces that I find particularly useful when using the Internet to find a bargain and it’s available from every page on Package Holidays via the menu bar to the right. It covers flight alerts, where to go for customer reviews, hotel booking tips and more.

I decided to start up this Package Holiday site as a non-commercial site to try and provide suggestions and help when choosing from all those many, many package holidays that seem to flood the web these days. I don’t know about you, but sometimes me and my g/f just want to go somewhere a bit different, maybe just a weekend break, or a full-on week away and all these tour operators, while providing plenty of great holiday deals no doubt, well, they don’t seem to provide too much “inspiration” - and I need inspiration sometimes!

Over the coming weeks, months and hopefully even years (if I get slow!) I’ll try to add a range of package holiday tips that might inspire. I also intend to review the main online tour operators and travel sites that provide the best holiday deals…not necessarily cheap holidays, although there will be some in there of course - can’t avoid it - but generally good deals. I’ll probably replace that panel over to the right there with the odd bargain holiday package as and when I stumble across a good one, but this being a non-commercial site, I don’t want to come across all in-yer-face now!

So bear with me - my keyboards itching to go…bookmark Package Holiday [.com] and come back frequently for ideas and reviews…hey, you never know - it may just inspire you!
